Directions to Lucia Lodge

via Nacimiento-Ferguson Rd

When coming from the north (San Francisco or Monterey area) there is a faster route than going all the way to Paso Robles and then turning west to Hwy1. This is the scenic route, which passes through a beautiful oak woodland and provides breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.

1) From Hwy 101 take exit 283 at King City to Jolon Rd.
(King City is last stop for supplies and gas)

2) Drive on Jolon Rd. to Fort Hunter-Liggett Military base (17 miles). Turn right on to Mission Rd.

3) In about 4 miles turn left at the sign marking STATE ROUTE 1. From there it is 24 miles to Hwy 1. Turn north on Hwy 1 to Lucia Lodge (4 miles).

NOTES:

• Landmarks: You will pass two campgrounds on Nacimiento Road, Ponderosa Campground and Nacimiento Campground. At the crest of the pass continue forward down the mountain to Hw1.

• Turn on headlights. Watch for oncoming traffic on blind corners.

• GPS may not be accurate in this area.

• Watch for wildlife. It is common to spot coyotes, deer, hawks, and other fauna.

• Last stop for supplies and gas is King City
